GAME REVIEWS
I have always believed that the best games created today are the ones which look to previous games to see what lessons have been learned – to see what worked, and what did not. While it is easy to poke fun at the games gone by or laugh at their loading times, I try to review games with some of the most important lessons we have learned from these games.
- Simplicity Matters – If a game has a simple theme and structure it is shore to be a hit. Proof: look at Super Mario Bros. and other platform games like Sonic the Hedgehog.
- Graphics and sound are not everything – Graphics and sound alone do not make a game fun, or even better, addictive. Can anyone say Pacman?
- Connection to Player – Games that connect to the player can succeed and those that forget the player will forever loose. A player can never become the gamer if it does not connect to them at the core.
- Entertain – Doom blew the mind of any teenage who ever played it. Make sure your game blows our minds.
I guess what I like to see are games that do not reinvent the wheel and instead work to pull together some of the best aspects of games gone by. With that said, here are my reviews of games able to come home to you.
